About Indiana Dunes National Park
Indiana Dunes National Park stretches 15 miles along the southern shore of Lake Michigan. The park contains towering sand dunes β some over 200 feet β along with marshes, swamps, bogs, and prairies. It became a national park in 2019 and is one of the most accessible parks from a major metropolitan area (Chicago is 50 miles west).
